Because the body moves, the hands come alive.
I've mentioned this several times in today's lesson.
it is,
The procedure is not performed by hand.
That's the point.
Many therapists unconsciously try to perform treatments using their hands and arms.
But hands are merely tools.
The treatment is actually being performed on the "body."
When the entire body moves naturally, that movement is transmitted to the hands, resulting in a treatment that provides a sense of closeness, warmth, and reassurance.
That's why I repeatedly emphasize "how to use your body" rather than "how to move your hands."
This is also closely related to the amount of oil used.
Swedish massage is performed with surprisingly little oil.
Those seeing it for the first time are often surprised and ask, "Are you really wearing any makeup?"
Of course, too much oil will make it too slippery.
But what I'm trying to convey isn't that "too much is bad."
Even the amount typically used in oil treatments is often too slippery for full-body massages.
If you can't firmly grasp the skin, the body's movements won't be transmitted to your hands.
This naturally leads to treatments being performed using only the hands and arms.
That's why I believe the amount of oil used is also important.
This isn't to say that "less oil is better."
What is the purpose of that quantity?
What kind of treatment are you aiming for?
That's the reason.
The treatment is not performed by brute force, nor is it solely based on manual technique.
A well-aligned body moves, and as a result, the hands function properly.
It is at that moment that the recipient feels a sense of security, not just being "touched," but being "enveloped."
