To therapists who feel they "have to say something"
I've noticed that the therapist industry has become completely dominated by anatomy in recent years.
Muscles, skeleton, origins and insertions, distortions, and assessment.
Of course, anatomy is important.
That's absolutely correct.
But lately, I've been feeling a little uneasy.
Anatomy
"To evaluate"
"To give advice"
"To correct"
The question is whether it has become something else.
After the treatment is finished
"This is the problem."
"This part is really well-crafted."
"Please do these stretches."
"Given this condition, how many times a week should you come in?"
I think there are many therapists who feel they have to say those kinds of things.
but,
What if I were the customer?
Clean and warm,
In a carefully maintained space, I was touched by soft, warm hands.
A time to simply relax and entrust yourself without thinking about anything.
After that
If someone says, "This is what's wrong"
It brings me back to reality a little.
Don't you ever feel that way?
Customers who come for relaxation
I don't want to be corrected.
I don't want to be praised or anything like that.
What we are looking for
"A time to relax."
"A time when you don't have to try hard at anything."
is.
The body is very honest.
I remember how I was treated more than what was done to me.
Rather than how correct what was said was
- Was the touch gentle? - Did they feel safe? - Did the pleasant feeling last? - Did the feeling linger?
That way, it leaves a much deeper impression.
And strangely enough
The body also relaxes.
Not when it was corrected
That was a moment of relief.
Here, I would like to take a moment to re-examine the role of anatomy.
Anatomy is
Not a "weapon to change the body"
Understanding to avoid being rejected by the body
It's not about where and how to move
How to touch someone to make them feel safe, and how to treat them to make them accept you.
It's something used for that purpose.
When you shift to this perspective
Everything changes: the treatment, the words spoken, the atmosphere—everything.
What you need after the procedure is
Rather than evaluation or instruction
Simply communicate what good condition your body is in right now.
"Your breathing has become deeper."
"I feel very relaxed."
"It's in good condition."
That's all
The body remembers that state and tries to return to it.
Repeat
It is not something that can be created through explanation.
It is born in a "memorized state".
Studying anatomy is important.
but
If you use it incorrectly
This would result in a treatment that doesn't reach the body.
That's why I
Not for evaluation purposes
Anatomy for creating a sense of security
I want to continue sharing this message.
