Why did you want to become a therapist?
Why did you enter this field because you wanted to become a therapist?
Was it because you wanted to improve your physical condition?
Was it because you wanted to cure your stiff shoulders?
Was it because you wanted to do something about your back pain?
That may have been one of the triggers.
But I'm sure many therapists did more than just that.
The origin of a therapist is not so much the desire to "cure,"
"I want to be by your side," "I want to be there for you."
"I want to convey that it's okay for this person to be just the way they are."
It must have been a much quieter impulse.
It's not for correcting, evaluating, or guiding.
I just liked touching things.
I enjoyed noticing changes in people.
I'm sure there are many people for whom that was all there was to it.
The moment you touch someone and their breathing suddenly changes.
- When you can sense a sense of relief without exchanging any words.
Just being next to each other,
The feeling of someone's strength draining away.
Such an experience,
Have you ever been deeply moved?
The origin of a therapist is not so much the desire to "cure,"
"I want to be by your side," "I want to be there for you."
"I want to convey that it's okay for this person to be just the way they are."

just,
I loved touching things.
I enjoyed noticing changes in people.
Some people were only like that,
There must be a lot of them.
However, as I continued to learn, I felt that "I have to produce results."
"We must make improvements."
"We must emphasize our expertise."
Those kinds of words are becoming more and more common.
Before I knew it,
The feeling that was initially in my chest seems to have been pushed somewhere deep inside.
But the body is very honest.
When someone tries to correct it,
When evaluated,
When it seems like it's about to be changed against your will,
The body slowly closes.
Conversely, there was a moment when I felt relieved, thinking, "I don't have to try so hard here."
The body automatically changes its breathing,
It changes blood flow and initiates the recovery process.
The work of a therapist is,
It's not about adding anything.
Don't do anything unnecessary.
To gently reclaim the sense of security that was taken away.
The only one who can do that is,
Rather than someone with amazing technical skills,
This is someone who still cherishes their initial feelings.
If you're feeling confused or uneasy right now, that's not necessarily a sign that you're doing something wrong.
Rather, it's a sign that they're trying to return to their roots.
Ask yourself that question again.
