"This is completely different from other massages!!" That was my immediate reaction when I first received an effleurage (Swedish massage) at a trial lesson at the school. I experienced the wonderful feeling of Swedish massage, which uses only a very small amount of oil. With regular oil massages, there is always a slippery feeling, but with Swedish massage, you can firmly grasp the muscles, allowing you to fully feel the warmth and softness of the therapist's hands. I was deeply moved by the feeling of being touched from deep within my body, and being able to surrender myself with peace of mind, feeling enveloped. My heart was completely captured by that first effleurage, and I decided that I absolutely wanted to be able to do this technique, so I enrolled in the school.
When I enrolled, I was a little worried because it takes me a long time to learn techniques, so I asked Professor Sano, "Is it okay if I ask the same question multiple times?" He kindly replied, "It's fine to ask dozens of times!" which put my mind at ease and allowed me to start. In fact, I have asked the same question dozens of times, but each time he explains it carefully as if he were teaching me from the beginning, so I gain new insights and learn something new each time. I also find it very helpful that he teaches from an anatomical perspective. I feel confident learning from Professor Sano.
I'm really grateful that the teacher's instruction is given to small groups, allowing for detailed attention and opportunities to ask questions. I've also been able to hear various stories from the teacher, who is very dedicated to research, and receive advice from many different perspectives, which has broadened my horizons.
I am an aromatherapist, and my aromatherapy skills have definitely improved, allowing me to perform treatments with confidence.
